Post installation self-audit form for installers.  Example from Bristol CC.  Coming soon!

Handover documentation examples from Bristol CC.  Coming soon!

From OptiHeat "This document is intended as a guide to heat pump installation. It makes reference to but is not a substitution for industry standards set by bodies including MCS and the certification bodies, planning regulations and DNO procedures. It goes beyond some of the requirements of these regulations to ensure quality installations in Bristol."  AECL Comment: 21 pages. This is quite a lengthy read - but for organisations serious about ASHP it does contain loads of good stuff.  Even if you don't take everything in here - it will point you to the sorts of things that you probably want to cover - and may not have thought of!

This page includes useful materials for ASHP created [blue buttons], &/or shared [green buttons], by the OptiHeat project.  That project has now ended, so at some point the weblink will cease to function.  It is our understanding that Bristol CC have additional funding to 'professionalise' these docs.  When (if) that occurs we will signpost to where they are hosted and/or provide the new docs here.

If there is anything that you would like that is not here - let us know!

If there is anything that you have which you think may be useful to others - let us know!

The OptiHeat team believe that 'Remote Assistance' (a combination of remote monitoring AND the abitity to change setting remotely) will be beneficial for RP's and tenants alike.  The first button is a (draft March 2026) document on the subject and research done by OptiHeat up to that point.  The second button is a privacy notice example for organisations taking this approach.

Remote Assistance will not be for everyone, and especially in the near term - but we provided these docs to complete the OptiHeat suite of documents - and also because the Remote Assistance approach may be something that more advanced ASHP users are ready to consider in the short term.

This button is to download the 'simple' audit form for 'non-technical' staff.  This is in word format and has 5 main questions (with sub-questions).  Longer and more technical audit forms are below.

We love this doc.  Don't be put off from a quick glance (which is very possible).  The doc is 18 pages long - but most of that is 'how to' and examples in the appendices.  The real 'form' bit is only 2 or 3 pages.  We will be doing some ASHP docs for MNZH, and this doc will probably be a starting point - and we will split out the 'how to' bits into separate materials.  Hopefully that will make it easier for people looking for the first time to see what they need without trying to work out the bits they don't.  We also hope that will allow us to create more 'how to' materials without making those parts too long or off putting.

This set of materials relate to strategy, and QA Process.  The first button is for a template for a Social Housing ASHP Strategic Review.  From OptiHeat "The purpose of the document is to provide a template that social housing provider officers might use to coordinate the review of activities within their organisations around heat pumps. This document has been produced by Bristol City Council who take no liability for it’s use."

The second button is a ppt (3 slides) with a very high level process map and key metrics

The third button is an xls doc where metrics can be logged.

Various useful ASHP links.  Coming soon!

All of the sky blue buttons on this page are materials from the OptiHeat project website.  OptiHeat is a project between Uni' of Bristol and Bristol CC.  Loads of good stuff here!  Most of the buttons below have been created for docs in the 'Resources' section of this website.  So you can just go and get them live from the website - which will also mean the latest versions as the continue to deveklop these docs.  We will add them below with commentry shortly....  The second button is to download the PPT slides by Bristol City Council (& Optiheat) from the 'Successful ASHP Workshop' hosted by North Kesteven in Newark (Aug 26).

The first button is a spec' from the National Trust, the second is from Broadacres HA:  Both taken from the OpitHeat website dated 31st March 2026"  AECL Comment: 17 & 16 Pages respectively. Really useful spec's to reference if you are building your own specification for ASHP.  But also use the BCC ASHP Guidance doc above too!

BCC and Nesta developed an Audit form.  The first button allows a download of a pdf of this form.  This is probably the most helpful starting point for most people.

The second button is a link to the actual GoogleForms version.  The third button allows a download of the GoogleForms content in word.  (There is a link to instructions relating to GoogleForms in the word doc and via the actual GoogleForm).

This is a really useful checklist for looking at installs.  While many MNZH consortia staff may not have the technical knowledge to answer all of the questions the form could be adapted to suit less technical people.  It could also help to identify which technical aspects you might want to be able to answer with further information, or training.

The fisrt button is to download a 1 page (word doc) which sets out Bristol CC's protocol following on from audits of ASHP works.  The second  button is for the BCC 'Repairs Form' (pdf).  If BCC representatives find issues at audit, this form is used by the installer to confirm that they have completed work to resolve the issues from the audit.
